tonight I saw the train crossing richmond street. it rolled out of the black air and through the headlights of the cars which beset it on either side. it moved like an animal of the night exposed by the highbeams of hunting dogs. over and over the shiny portions of its segmented body exploded out of the darkness to catch the light before diving back into formlessness. some vagabond that slips between buildings, an expert on the geometry of a city he is not welcome in.
